White pristine beaches and the beautiful Indian Ocean are close to the Joondalup City Hotel, just 5 minutes away by car. Their safe use is guaranteed by the many Lifesaving and Surf clubs along the shore such as those at Mullaloo, Ocean Reef, and Quinns Rocks (don’t forget your sunscreen, our sun is very powerful!). One of the safest beaches in the area is at the Hillary’s Boat Harbour complex just a short distance down the coast. One of the “must see whilst in WA “ is the AQWA aquarium situated within the Hillary’s Boat Harbour, where our coastal species of marine life are represented in a wonderful under-sea exhibition – the braver amongst us being able to have supervised swims with the sharks. If you would like to learn to scuba dive a dive school is located a few kilometres North at Mindarie Marina. The tuition here is first class and extremely reasonable in price.
Explore the delights of Perth just 20 minutes by car or commuter train, with the magnificent and accessible Swan River at its heart, Kings Park with its fantastic views over the City of Perth, the many exhibitions at the new Perth Convention Centre and of course, the Swan Valley wine region which is less than a half hour away. Further a field the heritage and architecture of Fremantle with its Fishing Boat Harbour and the famous Cappuccino Strip awaits your presence. The Pinnacles, not forgetting, the Margaret River vineyards, Albany and the Southwest are within a few hours drive. The region is truly at your feet!
