Sunset Coast Beaches Near Joondalup

The City of Joondalup has 17km of pristine coastline, forming part of Marmion Marine Park, stretching from Marmion Beach to Burns Beach. Popular family swimming beaches are Mullaloo Whitfords & Sorrento Beaches. Mullaloo and Sorrento Beaches are provided with mid-week lifeguards by the City of Joondalup. There are two boat harbours in the region — Hillarys Boat Harbour & Ocean Reef Boat Harbour.

 

Western Australia's white sandy beaches and the beautiful Indian Ocean are close to the Joondalup City Hotel, just 5 minutes away by car.

 

A great location for families, with grassed areas, shady trees, BBQ’s, a kiosk and picnic facilities. Home to Mullaloo Surf Life Saving Club, adding to the appeal for parents as they can enjoy the beach whilst knowing their children are safe! Mullaloo beach is the ideal location for families to enjoy a scenic cycle.

 

This is the beach for windsurfing, jet skiing, water skiing and kite surfing. Visitors of the beach can also head down to the waters edge for a spot of fishing.

With the current redevelopment this beach provides a picturesque setting for weddings, community and family events. Once finished, the beach will have grassed areas with picnic shelters and BBQ’s, as well as raised boardwalks. Home to Sorrento Surf Lifesaving Club ensures safe swimming opportunities for all beach users during the club season.

 

Small local beach for swimming, snorkelling and diving. Burns Beach is an Ideal location for a day out on a sunny weekend, with a cafe, grassed area, play equipment and picnic shelters.

 

This small beach is perfect for snorkelling. Home to the Marmion Angling and Aquatic Club.

 

A perfect beach for those who love to treat their dog! Head down to Hillarys Animal Exercise Beach for a swim with your pooch, and you can even treat him to a dog wash afterwards (only available on weekends). Hillarys Animal Exercise Beach also caters for horse owners.

 

Home to Whitfords Sea Rescue Group and the Whitfords Sea Sports Club, this beach is ideal for boat users, with boat launching facilities and fishing opportunities. Plans for the commercial development of the harbour are currently being investigated, giving this area excellent prospects for both tourists, local residents and boat enthusiasts.

 

This exciting entertainment facility has the works, with the Great Escape (water slides, mini-golf, and trampolines), AQWA (Underwater World), and numerous cafes to tantalise your taste buds. The beach is perfect for families, with a midweek lifeguard service during the summer months. Hillarys Boat Harbour also has first-class boat launching facilities.
